About MorseCoder
A free International Morse translator and practice hub. Last verified: August 2026 — timing checked against ITU-R M.1677-1.
What this site is
MorseCoder exists so anyone can convert text to International Morse and Morse back to English in a browser — with CW-style audio, Farnsworth spacing, light, vibrate, and a trainer. The living standard we implement is ITU-R M.1677-1 (International Morse), not American / railroad Morse.
We do not claim a licensed Extra Class identity, an FCC callsign, a university affiliation, or years-on-air that we cannot document. Those claims previously appeared on this site and have been removed. The translator still works the same way; the trust signal is the published standard, not a borrowed ham ticket.
If you need on-air operating practice, treat this as a timing and recognition tool, then get instruction from a licensed amateur radio club or CW academy. We are not a licensing body and we do not issue callsigns.
What we will and will not say
Published standard
Letter timing follows ITU-R M.1677-1: a dash is three times a dot; intra-character gap is one dot.
